We begin this experience with direct pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. Since this is a private tour, the schedule can be adjusted to your preference.

🌄 Cusco – Cusipata Journey (approx. 2 hours)

During the drive, you will enjoy spectacular Andean landscapes, passing through small traditional villages. Your guide will provide a brief introduction to the local culture and surroundings.

Arrive in Cusipata, where you will enjoy an energizing breakfast (optional or included depending on your package), perfect to prepare for the trek.

🚐 Transfer to the starting point (Phulawasipata)

We continue by transport to the starting point of the hike, located at over 4,600 meters above sea level.

🥾 Hike to Rainbow Mountain (approx. 1h 30 min – 2h)

We begin the hike at a comfortable pace, adapted to your rhythm. Along the way, you will observe:

Reddish mountains and unique mineral formations
Herds of llamas and alpacas
Views of the impressive Ausangate Mountain

Reaching Machu Picchu on the final day felt incredibly rewarding. The Salkantay Trek with Marvelous couldn't have been better thanks to our incredible guide, Daniel. Honestly, I've never had such a great guide. Daniel is so warm, cheerful, and energetic. He wasn't just a guide, but part of our trekking family—many guides could learn something from him! Aside from that, our group was very personable, young, and motivated. The private cooks traveling with us prepared amazing food, and there was always enough of it. I've never eaten so well on a trek. Only in the last few days, when the cooks left and provided us with food at the restaurant, did the quality of the food really suffer compared to before. The accommodations were good, the sleeping bags provided were sufficient, and Daniel, our guide, tailored the route to our group's needs so everyone was satisfied.
