ITINERARY
🗓️ Detailed Itinerary
1. Pickup from your hotel in Puno
We start the day with pickup from your accommodation in Puno in a tourist vehicle. From there, we head to the Peru-Bolivia border (Desaguadero), a journey of approximately 2 hours.
2. Border crossing and immigration procedures
Upon arrival at the border, the corresponding immigration procedures will be completed. Our guide will assist you throughout the process to ensure everything runs smoothly.
3. Departure to Tiwanaku
Once in Bolivian territory, we continue the journey to the archaeological complex of Tiwanaku, located about 30 minutes from the border. During the journey, you can enjoy the Andean landscapes of the Bolivian Altiplano.
4. Guided tour of the Tiwanaku Archaeological Complex
Once at the archaeological site, we begin our guided tour of the site’s main attractions:
- Kalasasaya Temple
- The Gate of the Sun, an emblem of the Tiwanaku culture
- Ponce Monolith and Fraile Monolith
- Semi-subterranean Temple, known for its nailed heads
- Lithic Museum and Ceramic Museum, where original pieces and replicas are exhibited
During the tour, you will learn about the origins of this pre-Inca civilization, considered one of the most advanced of its time in architecture, astronomy, and agriculture.
5. Lunch at a local restaurant
After the tour, you’ll enjoy a typical Bolivian lunch at a restaurant near the resort.
6. Return to the border and back to Puno
We bid farewell to Bolivia and begin the return journey to the border. We’ll complete the immigration procedures again and continue on our way back to Puno.
7. Arrival in Puno and transfer to your hotel
We’ll conclude the tour by dropping you off at your hotel with unforgettable memories of this binational journey.
