ITINERARY

Detailed Itinerary: Full-Day Trekking to Laguna Churup

Start in Huaraz – Altitude: 3,050 m above sea level

  • Pickup from your hotel between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m.
  • Departure by tourist transport to the village of Pitec (at 3,850 m above sea level) – Journey time: approximately 1 hour.
  • During the trek, you’ll cross Andean fields, Quechua communities, and enjoy views of the snow-capped Churup mountain.

🥾 Trekking start – Pitec to Churup Lagoon

  • Hiking start: approximately 9:00 a.m.
  • Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours of ascent.
  • Final altitude: 4,450 m above sea level
  • Type of trail: steep trail, natural steps, and a short climb on a fixed rope (good balance and caution required).

  • Free time to rest, take photographs, enjoy the surroundings, and have a small picnic in front of the lake.
  • Option to explore a higher viewpoint (Churupita Lagoon), depending on time and physical condition.
