ITINERARY
🗓️ Detailed Itinerary – Half Day (Duration: 4 to 5 hours)
1. Pickup from your hotel in Puerto Maldonado
We’ll pick you up at your accommodation and head to the port to board a motorboat that will take us down the Tambopata River, within an area of great biodiversity.
2. Navigation on the Tambopata River and Wildlife Observation
During the trip, you’ll observe tropical birds such as macaws, herons, and kingfishers, as well as possible sightings of capybaras, monkeys, and caimans on the banks.
3. Arrival at the experiential fishing spot
In a safe area rich in fish species, your guide will teach you the artisanal fishing techniques used by Amazonian communities. We’ll use rustic rods, natural bait, and a lot of patience.
4. Fishing for piranhas and other native species
The challenge begins: catching a piranha. This moment is accompanied by stories from the guide about the habits of these species, their behavior, and their importance in the ecosystem. You can also catch catfish, mojarras, or pacos.
5. Light tasting and time for photos
Light refreshments will be offered while you enjoy the jungle surroundings. If you catch a piranha, you’ll have the opportunity to observe it up close (and safely).
6. Return by boat to Puerto Maldonado
Relax during the return trip while taking the opportunity to take some last photos of the river and its surroundings.
7. Arrival in the city and end of the tour.
