Day 1: Jungle Welcome & Night Safari

  • Hotel pick-up in Puerto Maldonado early in the morning.
  • Boat ride on the Madre de Dios River (approximately 40 minutes) to reach the lodge, surrounded by dense jungle and tropical landscapes.
  • Welcome briefing by lodge staff, explaining activities, safety, and the itinerary.

  • Birdwatching and photography: Observe species such as Blue-headed macaws, Scarlet macaws, and Yellow-crowned parrots.
  • Guided hike through jungle trails, discovering plants, insects, and smaller birds along the way.
  • Canoe ride on the Tambopata River to spot river wildlife like giant otters, caimans, and various bird species.

Day 3: Sandoval Lake Jungle Adventure

  • Next, we embark on a 3 km jungle hike to Sandoval Lake, where we’ll encounter diverse wildlife, including howler monkeys, caimans, toucans, and the hoatzin bird.
  • We board a canoe, taking in the stunning Amazonian landscapes along the way.
  • Back at the lodge, there will be time to rest and relax before lunch.
  • After a delicious lunch, we’ll venture out to the suspension bridge and experience an exhilarating zip-line adventure through the jungle canopy.
  • In the afternoon, we return to the lodge and observe toucans and parrots flying across the skies.
  • Dinner will be served, followed by preparations for a night jungle walk.

Day 4: Tapir Trail & Amazonian Fishing

  • We start the day with a delicious breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed by an exploration of the Tapir Trail.
  • Along the way, we will pass through a landscape of aguaje palms, a vital food source for many Amazonian animals.
  • In this area, we may encounter wild pigs, rodents, toucans, and oropendola birds.
  • Between April and November, this territory transforms into a wetland known as Aguajal, which is often home to anacondas.
  • After completing the hike, we return to the lodge to enjoy a traditional lunch.
  • In the afternoon, guests have the option to participate in sport fishing.
  • During the journey, we may observe parrots and toucans flying overhead.
