1. Pickup from your hotel in Puerto Maldonado
Our team will pick you up early in the morning to make the most of your experience. We’ll head to the city’s port, where we’ll begin our cruise.
2. Sailing the Madre de Dios River
We’ll board a motorized boat for an approximately 30-minute ride along the calm waters of the Madre de Dios River, surrounded by lush vegetation and listening to the awakening of the jungle.
3. Start of the rainforest trek
We’ll enter the Tambopata National Reserve. We’ll walk for approximately 3 km (1 hour and 30 minutes) along an interpretive trail. During the hike, a specialized guide will show us the local flora and fauna: ancient trees, butterflies, capuchin monkeys, sloths, and a wide variety of birds.
4. Canoe Trip on Lake Sandoval
Upon reaching the lake, we’ll board a paddled canoe to navigate its calm waters. Here, you may spot giant otters, black caimans, herons, cormorants, and macaws soaring above the treetops.
5. Wildlife Observation and Rest
We’ll stop at a strategic location to admire the scenery and observe birds in their natural habitats. Weather permitting, we can cool off with a swim in the lake.
