2-Day Machu Picchu Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Agua Calientes

  • We begin our experience with pickup from your hotel in Cusco for a scenic journey of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to Ollantaytambo, located in the heart of the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas.
  • From the train station, we will board the train to Aguas Calientes, the charming town nestled at the foot of the Wonder of the World: Machu Picchu.
  • During the train ride, you will enjoy spectacular landscapes, with views of canyons, rivers, and Andean mountains intertwined with vestiges of the ancient Inca civilization.
  • Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, we will check in at your selected hotel, and you will have the afternoon free to relax, enjoy the hot springs, or explore the town at your leisure.
  • In the evening, our team will offer a briefing where we will share all the essential details for your visit to Machu Picchu the following day.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

  • The second day begins very early with a light breakfast at the hotel. We will prepare for an unforgettable day. We will board the eco-friendly Consettur buses, which will take us approximately 25 minutes to the entrance of the iconic Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.
  • We will have a guided tour of approximately 2 hours in the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Known as the “Lost City of the Incas,” captivating with its architectural perfection and mysterious history, we will explore its main areas, temples, plazas, platforms, and viewpoints, while our specialized guide shares fascinating details about its construction, function, and cultural legacy.
  • After the visit, we will return to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants, offering a gastronomic offering that fuses Andean ingredients and contemporary cuisine.
  • In the afternoon, we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where a private transfer will be waiting for us for the final return to Cusco, thus concluding a unique and inspiring experience in the heart of the Inca legacy.
