🗓 Detailed Itinerary – Full Day
1. Pickup from your hotel in Cusco
We’ll start the day very early to take advantage of the tranquility of the morning, an ideal time for birdwatching. Transportation departs for the district of Pomacanchi, located about 2 hours from Cusco.
2. Breakfast in the local community of Acopia
We enjoyed a typical Andean breakfast with natural products from the area, in a cozy atmosphere run by local families.
3. Visit to Pomacanchi Lagoon and Acopia Lagoon
We explored the first two lagoons of the circuit. Pomacanchi, the largest, is home to species such as the great egret, the Andean grebe, and wild ducks. Acopia, on the other hand, stands out for its scenic beauty and the presence of resident and migratory birds. Gentle walks and time for photos.
4. Traditional lunch in the community of Mosoqllaqta
Lunch prepared by locals with organic ingredients. Typical dishes such as fried trout or tarwi stew.
5. Visit to Asnaqocha Lagoon and Pampamarca
In Asnaqocha, we enjoy a more remote setting, ideal for observing endemic birds such as the huallata (Andean goose) and the black ibis. Then, in Pampamarca, where the waters reflect the sky like a mirror, you can see high Andean flamingos depending on the season.
6. Return to Cusco
Return to the city with a final panoramic stop at the natural viewpoints along the way.
7. Arrival at the hotel in Cusco
