🗺️ Detailed Itinerary
1. Qorikancha – Temple of the Sun
We begin the tour by visiting Qorikancha, the most important sacred site of the Inca Empire, dedicated to the Sun God. Here you can observe the perfect fusion of Inca architecture and the colonial buildings of the Santo Domingo Convent.
2. Sacsayhuamán
We continue to the impressive ceremonial fortress of Sacsayhuamán, located 3 km from Cusco. Its gigantic stone walls fit together with millimeter precision and offer an unparalleled panoramic view of the city.
3. Qenqo
We then visited Qenqo, an Inca ceremonial center carved into rock, used for religious rituals and mummifications. Its underground labyrinth and carved altar are impressively mysterious.
4. Puka Pukara
Later, we explored Puka Pukara, an ancient military checkpoint with reddish walls that protected access to Cusco and served as a resting area for travelers.
