📍 Complete Itinerary – Choqolaqa Full Day Tour
1. Pickup from your hotel in Arequipa and departure to Tisco
We depart early from Arequipa for the district of Tisco, in the province of Caylloma. Along the way, we pass through Pampacolca and enjoy the landscape of the Andean mountain range, with possible sightings of vicuñas and high Andean birds.
2. Breakfast en route (box lunch or at Tisco)
We make a brief stop for a hearty breakfast, ideal for acclimatizing to the altitude (approx. 4,500 m above sea level).
3. Arrival at the community of Tisco and orientation talk
Upon arrival in Tisco, we are greeted by a local community who shares information about their history, culture, and traditions.
4. Guided walk through the Choqolaqa Stone Forest
We begin a light walk (approximately 2 km) through the enigmatic landscape of Choqolaqa. This stone forest is a natural sanctuary filled with stone figures shaped by the wind and time. The local guides tell us the legends surrounding this place, considered by many to be a mystical space full of energy.
5. Free time for photography and personal exploration
Explore at your own pace, take photographs, and connect with the silence of the high plateau, surrounded by unique formations that seem like they’re from another planet.
6. Lunch at Tisco (traditional Andean menu)
We enjoy a typical lunch prepared by the community, with local ingredients and ancestral recipes.
7. Return to Arequipa
After lunch, we begin our return to the city of Arequipa. Along the way, we’ll make brief stops to admire the beauty of the Andean landscape.
8. Arrival in Arequipa and transfer to the hotel.
End of the tour and farewell at the hotel.
