🗓 Detailed Itinerary – Full Day
1. Hotel Pickup – Departure from Arequipa
We begin the adventure with pickup from your accommodation in the historic center or nearby locations. We’ll head to the Arequipa plateau while enjoying a sunrise among volcanoes and open fields.
2. Stop at Patahuasi – Traditional Breakfast
We’ll make a brief stop in Patahuasi for a comforting breakfast (optional, not included). Here you can acclimatize and prepare for the hike.
3. Arrival at the Imata Stone Forest
We’ll explore this enigmatic place, where rock formations sculpted by the wind over thousands of years form whimsical figures that seem straight out of a fairy tale. We’ll walk among stone columns, admiring the landscape and taking unique photographs.
4. Arrival at Pillones Waterfall
We will continue to one of the most beautiful spots in the region: Pillones Waterfall. To reach it, we will take a 20- to 30-minute hike down a rocky terrain (difficulty level: moderate). Upon arrival, you will witness the power and beauty of this waterfall, over 10 meters high, surrounded by volcanic rocks and high Andean vegetation. Free time for photos, rest, and connection with nature.
5. Return to Imata – Lunch (optional)
We will return to Imata, where you can have lunch at a local restaurant (not included). We recommend trying a hot soup or fresh local trout.
6. Start of the return trip to Arequipa
We begin the return journey, enjoying panoramic views of the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, home to vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas.
7. Arrival in Arequipa – End of tour
We’ll arrive in the white city and drop you off at your accommodation or a central plaza.
