This exciting 3-day Colca Canyon Taquile Connection tour combines the breathtaking beauty of the Colca Canyon with the cultural magic of Lake Titicaca and Taquile Island. It begins in Arequipa with a tour of the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, the Patapampa Pass, and the La Calera hot springs in Chivay. On the second day, you’ll visit the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor (Cross of the Condor) to observe the majestic flight of condors, and then travel overland to the city of Puno, crossing the high plateau landscapes of the southern Andes.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Arequipa – Salinas and Aguada Blanca Reserve – Chivay – Hot Springs

We begin our adventure from Arequipa heading to the spectacular Colca Canyon. Along the way, we cross the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, home to vicuñas and alpacas in their natural habitat.

Stop for a light breakfast and to acclimatize to the altitude.
8:30 AM | Patapampa Pass (4,910 m above sea level)
Viewpoint known as the “Mirador de los Volcanes” (Volcano Viewpoint), from which you can see the peaks of Misti, Chachani, and Ampato.
10:00 AM | Arrival in Chivay – Check-in at your accommodation
Brief rest in the town of Chivay (3,630 m above sea level), the tourist center of the Colca Valley.

We explore the charming villages of Pinchollo, Maca, and Yanque, where we will admire colonial churches, Inca terraces, and local crafts.

We begin the connection to Lake Titicaca. During the journey, you can appreciate the Andean plateau and its unique landscapes.

Day 3: Lake Titicaca – Uros Islands – Taquile Island – Return to Puno

Begin your lake tour on the highest navigable lake in the world.
2. Sail to the Uros Floating Islands
Discover this ancestral community living on islands made of totora reeds. Learn about their traditions, way of life, and sail on traditional rafts.
3. Continue to Taquile Island (2-hour sail)
Cross the lake to Taquile Island, known for its Andean landscape, Quechua culture, and textiles declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage site by UNESCO.
4. Hike and cultural visit in Taquile
